Congratulations to the Totowa Fire Department in Totowa, New Jersey, our 12/1/21 Biannual Headset System Giveaway winner. The winning entry was sent by Chief Rich Schopperth.

The Totowa Fire Department is thrilled to hear about being chosen to receive the David Clark Headset System Giveaway. Radio communications between dispatch, command and responding apparatus are always subject to miscommunication due to background noise, such as sirens, air horns and normal vehicle traffic noise. The David Clark Headset System would alleviate these outside distractions and enable communication between officer and crew to ensure orders are clearly heard and understood. This would make the response to any emergency situation easier and safer, with the additional benefit of helping to protect our firefighters’ hearing. We are excited to have the system installed on our aerial ladder apparatus.”

The Headset Communication System will be designed and configured for the apparatus by David Clark Company. System installation will be provided at no charge to the department, courtesy of Wireless Communications Inc., West Berlin, NJ.
