Congratulations to the Hardinsburg City Fire Department, Hardinsburg, KY, our 11/30/22 Biannual Headset System Giveaway award winner. The winning entry was sent by Chief Nathan Smith.

“Having a [David Clark Company] headset system to use will enable all members on the apparatus to keep informed while en route, thus ensuring a safer response. Improving communication with dispatch will also help free up precious real estate on the radio channel. Being able to communicate with dispatch while on scene via the truck radio will improve reception on both ends, as opposed to having to use a lower powered handheld radio. We hope this will improve the clarity of our communications, cut down on the possibility for miscommunication or missed transmissions, and improve the overall safety of our responses.”

The Headset Communication System will be designed and configured for the apparatus by David Clark Company. System installation will be provided at no charge to the department, courtesy of ERS Wireless, Louisville, KY.
